Happy 1 Year Workiversary, Lauren!

This past August Lauren celebrated her one year anniversary with AEDC! Her hard work and positive attitude have been a great addition to our team.

We caught up with Lauren for a quick Q&A.

What is your role at AEDC? How long have you been with the company?

I am AEDC’s Marketing + Communications Specialist and started in this position just over a year ago.

What is your favorite part of your job?

If I had to pick just one thing, I’d have to say my favorite part of my job is being able to promote the City of Allentown and everything it has to offer. Continually focusing on what is best for our city is a great feeling.  

What made you want to work for AEDC?

The mission of AEDC and the staff made me want to be a part of the team. After my initial interview and meet + greet with the entire staff, I knew this was finally the fit I was looking for.

Tell us a little bit about your background, family life, interests, hobbies, etc.

I am an Allentown native and currently live in the West End of Allentown with my husband. From a young age I was taught to participate and give back to my community, so I try and stay very involved in the city.  I am a founding member of the Allentown Young Professionals, a board member for the Lehigh Valley Humane Society and a founding member of the Golf 4 Cancer LV golf tournament. Outside of work and volunteering, I love to travel, spend time with friends and family and recently got into photography.

How have you grown professionally while on our team?

Since working for AEDC, I have grown professionally by learning more about my leadership skills. The support, encouragement and guidance from my own leader has shown me how to build on and become even more confident in these skills.
